The Need for Civic Leadership
HLBC’s philosophy is that, while not everyone can be a great student or athlete, most kids can become adept leaders in their own way given proper training, empowerment and opportunities. We use basketball as a way to teach leadership skills to young people and equip them with the confidence they need to overcome obstacles and improve their lives.

Leadership Theme
Each day, HLBC introduces and re-enforces a different leadership theme. The focus of each session is supported by themed basketball practices and drills, guest speakers, dinnertime discussions and activities and camp-wide community service projects. Social values are paired with on-court skills, each supporting the other.
